  當一個人在充滿不知名怪物、隨時可能遇襲的太空船中，要如何找出生路？美商藝電研發一款恐怖生存遊戲《deadspace》，遊戲以工程師為主角，他在灰暗的太空船中，不僅隨時可能有噁心怪物跳上身打算啃食他，還得解開謎題、找出生存之道，遊戲結合爆頭、噴血等畫面，氣氛十足。
　　
遊戲在設計時主要考量恐怖「三元素」，包括未知生物突然趴在你身上、在未知的環境中似乎前方應該有東西卻又看不到東西，再加上完全找不到幫助的孤寂感；遊戲主打的不是厲害的戰士或是英雄，而是一名普通的工程師，遊戲的武器、道具等介面有點類似電影「關鍵報告」中，可即時呈現在主角面前的淺藍色螢幕，但由於遊戲是持續即時進行的，因此即使玩家叫出這些介面時，仍隨時有可能被怪物攻擊。
　　
  主角手持武器不僅可以直接射擊，也可以藉由吸引起地上類似血滴子的鐵圈，然後拋出去攻擊怪物；當同時面對四、五個敵人攻擊時，也可先快速凍結怪物的動作、然後再來解決。
　　
  這些怪物有的有類似人臉的面貌，但身體肚子部份剖開，或是像腫爛的人體等，看起來相當恐怖，至於怪物被攻擊時會噴血，甚至會被爆頭或斷頭，當頭身分離掉落地面時，主角還可一腳把它踢開。
　　
  主角必須要尋找設備來提升攻擊力與防禦能力，並且要嘗試解決謎題，像此次展示試玩的內容中，主角進入一個無重力的房間，必須靠手上工具吸引合適的機體零件套入正確的位置中，以啟動相關裝置，但也要同時防範隨時因為無重力而飄來飄去的怪物。
